I have lost too many moments of joy in my Life thinking about calories or being afraid of 200g more on the scale. I have lost too much zest for Life hating myself, and being entirely disconnected from my emotions and needs. One day, when my body was aching in pain, I knew something had to change. I knew I didn't want to hate myself anymore. I wanted to choose joy, and Life - and I did.
I had started counting calories when I was ten and needed to learn how to live without eating disorders in my mid-twenties. I needed to entirely undo, reshape, and re-create what it means to eat healthily.
What helped wasn't being more disciplined, feel ashamed see myself as the problem. What helped was to finally let go of the pressure to be perfect. It was choosing to live a life in emotional freedom and creative expression.
And I understood - you are not supposed to live a life you don't like. You are here to be you. All of you.
So, learn to set yourself free from anything that's holding you back from being you. Heal, to create. And let food be a love poem to your body, your dreams, and your life. Let it nourish your Soul, too.
